Mercury III

The spirit of Mercury III is to deliver preventive education with initiative care to the target populations. It includes “Priority Populations Testing & Counselling Programme” and “People Living with HIV (PLHIV) Support Services Programme” funded by Reb Ribbon Center of the Department of Health.

  • Drug abusers (including non-Chinese)
  • Sex industry workers and their clients
  • Men who have sex with men
  • Non-Chinese clients 

Scope of Service

Priority Populations Testing & Counselling Programme

Service Objective

The “Priority Populations Testing and Counselling Programme” is a one-year pilot programme, collaborates with non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to provide free HIV and syphilis testing and counselling services for priority populations identified in the “Recommended HIV/AIDS Strategies for Hong Kong (2022-2027)”. This collaboration enables easier access to services, facilitates early diagnosis and promotes better sexual health.

 

Service Users

  • Men who have sex with men (MSM)
  • People of non-Chinese ethnic groups
  • Transgender people
  • People who inject drugs
  • Sex workers
  • Those who were at a higher risk of infection

 

Scope of Service

The Programme provides the following free services for eligible individuals:

  • Sexual health and risk assessment
  • Rapid HIV and syphilis antibody testing
  • Risk assessment and explanation of testing results
  • Personalised psychological support and counselling
  • Health advice on safer sex
  • Referrals to other services for prevention, diagnosis or follow-up care arrangement

 

People Living with HIV (PLHIV) Support Services Programme

Service Users

The Programme serves PLHIV who are being followed up at public HIV Clinics. Eligible individuals will be referred by their HIV Clinics according to individual needs and linked them to us for service provision.

 

Scope of Service

The services will be tailored to individual's needs. Examples include:

  • Medication and adherence support
  • Psychological and social support
  • Group therapy activities
  • Drug rehabilitation and counselling support
  • Functional rehabilitation
  • Bridging psychiatric services

Free of Charge

Service Hours

Mondays to Fridays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays Closed

* Test sessions out of service hours are also available. Please send WhatsApp to us at 2780 1331 for inquiries.

Service Application

Applicant may submit the application directly or through referral made by other organizations/institutions (e.g. public HIV Clinics)

Service Withdrawal

Service can be terminated upon worker's professional judgment and mutual agreement made with the service users. Service users may terminate service voluntarily at any juncture of the service process.
