We welcome individuals of all backgrounds and abilities. Because of the nature of our services delivered at some premises such as penal institutions, Magistrates' Courts etc. and our serving clienteles, we have the following requirements for being our volunteers.
Volunteer
Service Introduction
Welcome to follow us on Facebook for the latest updates on volunteer activities!
Service Objectives
General public can help to promote inclusivity by joining our volunteer services and community programmes, while service users can also contribute to the society by volunteering or being a peer in a transformed identity, gaining self-confidence and let the public understand the challenges facing by different disadvantaged groups.
Volunteer Training
We serve a more specialised group, mainly including incarcerated individuals, ex-offenders, and persons in recovery. Before volunteers formally engage in our services, we will arrange a basic volunteer training course to equip community members with the basic skills and precautions for communicating with service users.
Volunteer Services
Mass programs and groups in correctional institutions
Community volunteers organise mass programs and group activities in different correctional institutions to show care to inmates and enable them to interact with outside people. Volunteers also assist social workers in various district magistrates’ courts, helping people who awaited trial and their families to relieve their worries and concerns. Furthermore, volunteers will provide prison visitation service, pick-up service, birthday parties and other activities to help prisoners or ex-offenders maintain closer ties with their children, as well as to prevent intergenerational crime.
Inclusive Service
To aid their reintegration into society, we encourage our service users, including ex-offenders, persons in recovery and ex-drug abusers, to actively participate in volunteer service, such as hair-cutting volunteering activities. These activities can also transform our service users into givers and help them understand giving is more of a blessing than receiving.
We encourage service users to work with community volunteers in providing services for other disadvantaged groups. On the one hand, this allows community volunteers to have more understanding towards ex-offenders through interaction; on the other hand, it helps widen the positive social circle of ex-offenders.
Volunteer gatherings
Besides voluntary work in services, we regularly hold volunteer workshops and gatherings to enhance volunteers' interests and sense of belonging.
