CASH-Youth Financial SMART Planning Practice Program

"CASH – Youth Financial SMART Planning Practice Program" is a two year project funded by HKEX Foundation and allocated and monitored by The Community Chest. The project aims to assist individuals aged 9 to 35 from disadvantaged groups to establish good financial motivation and goals, increase their knowledge and skills in financial management, enable participants to understand the importance of proper financial values and monetary concepts and enhance their financial well-being in the long run.

Overview

We aim to provide young people with a foundaion in financial education through engaging and achievement-oriented activities that capture the interest and involvement of young people.  Additionally, the project provides personalised financial management experiences for specfic groups, enabling them to apply their learned experience to daily life in the future.  Our programe is known as CASH, which concluded several crucial objectives that we value:

 

  • Conditions - Understand one's financial capabilities
  • Attitude - Develop an understanding of personal views and attitudes towards money and wealth
  • Skills & Knowledge - Enhance financial skills and knowledge
  • Habit & Behavior - Cultivate the habit of analyzing daily financial decisions from multiple perspectives and consider associated risks

 

Our Target

This project targets youths aged 9-35, including but not limited to the followings:

 

  • Children of ex-offenders, inmates, person in mental health recovery, ethnic diversity group
  • Young ex-offenders
  • Youth offenders
  • High-risk Youths

Provided Services / Scope of Services

  • Youth Financial SMART Planning Practice Program

- Individual consultations with financial professionals are provided to discuss financial needs or difficulties, develop and implement personal financial plans.
- Upon completion of the program, participants may be recommended to join a 5-day financial learning tour

  • CASH - Youth Financial Smart Planning Interactive Space

- Financial planning board game borrowing
- Experiential activities including simulated trading, interactive theater, etc.
- An interactive space designed to offer a comfortable and recreational gathering place for youth to share

  • Online Financial Rewards Scheme

- Complete financial tasks to earn points and receive rewards

  • Simulated Financial Society Theater

- Visit different schools to spark students' interest in financial topics through theater performances

  • Outreach groups and sharing sessions

- Visit schools for social development, children and juvenile home to provide them knowledge and skills in financial management

  • Financial Management Video Competition

- Participants create short films related to financial knowledge, financial behaviours and financial well-being

  • Financial Education Workshop for Parents and Carers

- Improve parents' financial concepts and management skills 
- Assist in planning family finances and teaching children about money management

Tuesday to Friday 9:00a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
2:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.
Saturday 9:00a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Monday, Sunday & Public Holidays Closed

Application and Withdrawal

Service could be accessed through direct application by phone, fax, email, mail or referral.
The service is provided on voluntary basis.
Service users could apply for termination of service.
The staff could terminate the service upon professional judgment and mutual agreement made with the service users.
