'3-To-Go' - Sports Intervention Service on Hidden Drug Users

Service Objectives

  1. Enhancing the physical and mental health of hidden drug abusers, and enhancing their motivation to access drug rehabilitation through sports intervention as a form of relapse prevention;  
  2. Identifying hidden drug abusers through both face-to-face and online outreach services by sports supporters;  
  3. Establishing a supportive network which consists of drug-user volunteers, rehabilitees, sports supporters and community members so that a ‘3-To-Go' mutual help group can be formed to enhance drug-users' exposure to sports activities;  
  1. Increasing the chances of ex-drug-users of reintegrating into society by connecting the skills they have learnt from sports to employment through the process of career planning

Service Content

Autonomy: Establish the autonomy of service users over their goals, choices, and behaviors, and explore their interests and talents 

Competence: Increase the skills of service users, build competence and confidence, and take control of their lives and lives 

Relatedness: To create an inclusive environment for service users, enhance a sense of belonging, and connect with society or different groups 

 

 

Phase 1  

Establish autonomy  

  •  Early identification of drug abusers, strengthening their motivation to continue to participate in sports and preventing drug abuse, and enhancing the effectiveness of drug abuse treatment 

 

Outreach Services (Physical & Online)  

  • Identify potential hidden drug abusers on social media commonly used by young people 

 

Sport experience   

  •  Participate in various types of sports and discover their favourite sports 

Sport psychology  

  •  Incorporate appropriate sports psychology skills to cope with the psychological factors of exercise, such as low self-confidence 

 

Phase II  

Build capacity  

  •  Establish a long-term exercise habit to build a sense of competence and reinforce the confidence of drug abusers that they have the ability to control their lives 

 

Sport training  

  •  Establish long-term exercise habits and learn to exercise through systematic training

Joined the concept of "CoSA" to provide regular volunteer training and talent discovery to encourage service users to become volunteers 

 

Phase 3  

Build links  

  •  To provide follow-up career development for drug abusers, to facilitate the reintegration of drug addicts into society, and to enhance the acceptance of ex-drug addicts in the community 

Career support  

  •  Provide information in the market for job reference, interview-related preparation, and financial support for relevant certificates 

Work experience  

  •  Enquire about employment or internship opportunities to link the knowledge and skills they have learned in sports to employment

Service Hours

Monday to Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m  

Saturday: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m  

Sunday & Public Holidays: Closed 

Service Fees

Free of charge 

Service Application

The services of the Project are voluntary and users can apply directly, to the Social Worker of the Project or through referrals from other organisations. 

Service Withdrawal

Service can be terminated upon the worker's professional judgment and mutual agreement made with the service users. Service users may terminate service voluntarily at any juncture of the service process.
